Looks good. With a 3.2 Diesel that will obviously not come to the US. But hope the figures, at least the torque on the 2.3Ecoboost are better than 310 hp @ 5500 rpm, 350 lb-ft @ 3000 rpm

310/350 are great numbers for this segment.

The 3.2 is already here in the US, BTW, in the Transit van but can’t be used in this truck class legally.

International version Kerb weight is 1,866–1,968 kg (4,114–4,339 lb) still lower than Tacoma and Colorado at their heaviest but we’ll see if 310/350 translates into great performance.

I have a hunch they’ll lower peak HP for more midrange which should be good. I am more interested in the torque and power delivery.

Its going to hustle just fine. My GX has 263 hp and 330 lbs-ft, it weighs more and has permanent 4wd and even at altitude its plenty fast.

I want to hate the “big” light trucks, but the Wildtrak looks so good...

I think the Ranger Wildtrak is available in other markets other than the UK, Asian markets (Philippines, Australia, etc.)

Edit - Opps, saw the “X”, that’s probably what you meant.

Not really any true small light trucks these days. Everyone complaining when the Colorado/Canyon twins a few years ago for being “mid-sized”, but they were based on an international truck platform used by Holden & Isuzu around the World.

It’s not like it was Americanized and made larger, it’s was an existing international market truck.

Same with the Ranger, Hilux, Etc, all mid-sized in 4-door configuration.

OK Looks like they’ve launched the WIldtrak X first in the UK, not only in the UK. And it’s available for the first time in Europe. Changed title. https://www.autoevolution.com/news/2018-ford-ranger-wildtrak-x-is-dressed-to-impress-125209.html

Would you be surprised that most of the (fairly small numbers of) Rangers that I see are the 2.2 four?
